THE 21 Fir STORY
In 1946 the city of Waterloo embarked on one of Canada’s first housing projects for returning Veterans of World War II. As new families settled into this neighbourhood, aptly named ‘Veterans’ Green’ a sense of community arose. Large block parties and social gatherings were regularly held. Our grandparents, Frank and Elsie, were the original owners of 21 Fir Street. This house became well known amongst the residents as a place where everyone was welcome, no one left thirsty, and lots of whiskey was drank. It came to be known simply as ’21 Fir’.
At 21 Fir we strive to provide sensational cocktails and delicious food, in a cozy and comfortable, yet classy environment. Pull up a seat at the bar, dine out in the front, or lounge for drinks in our back booths and couches. All of our cocktails and food are crafted in house with local ingredients and we hope you enjoy!
